19th Sunday of Ordinary Time

  1. Today is the Prison Ministry Sunday. A special collection will be taken by the Prison Ministry of India outside the Church. They take care of the release and rehabilitation of prisoners and their families. Please contribute generously.
  2. Today we also celebrate National Youth Day, a day dedicated to the young people. It’s a day for the young people to re-discover Christ. Let us pray and thank the youth of our parish who are dedicated to the service of the church.
  3. Feasts of the Week:
    • 14th Wednesday is the feast of St. Maximilian Mary Kolbe
    • 15th Thursday is the feast of the Assumption of the BVM. It’s a day of obligation. The masses are as of Sunday. It’s the 77th Independence Day of India. After the 5.45 am English mass, there will be flag hoisting outside the church. Let’s show our respect and patriotism to our nation. The parish office will remain closed on Thursday.
  4. Vinnarasi SCC Group will be celebrating their feast on Thursday. Wishing all the families of this SCC a Happy Feast.
  5. In order to collect funds for the education of deserving students, St. Joachim’s SCC group from A K Colony and St. Clément’s SCC group from Periyar Nagar have come forward to sell delicious food this Sunday between 8:00 am and 12 noon. Kindly patronize the stalls and support this worthy cause.
  6. The Legion of Mary of our Parish wishes to spend a day praying the Rosary on the 15th of August. It starts at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm.
  7. Little Sisters of the Poor from Hennur are requesting your contribution next Sunday, and they will be taking the collection outside the church as they do every year.
  8. “Mother of Perpetual Help Car Avenue” is open for parking your cars. Kindly note the entry and exit on all Saturday evenings and Sundays will be only through John Armstrong Road, and car parking will be strictly prohibited on Saturday evenings and Sundays in the Church Campus. The elderly can also come to Church through the side gate of the parking area, and we request you to kindly cooperate with the volunteers.
  9. St. Don Bosco Church, Lingarajapuram is celebrating their annual feast. Details are on the notice board.
